Fans of the genre should not overlook this gem.. i got the game at a low price and i gotta say i was expecting to be boring but its pretty good for passing time.The combat system is a little weird but interesting.. A very nice game, with great atmosphere and never boring, due the fact that during the journeys many things can happen.. Outstanding event driven trading sim. Beautiful graphics, excellent sound space, simple yet flexible mechanics. Burned through the entire game in a day which is fairly rare for me these days. Heartily recommended.Unfortunately there does come a part where you've pretty much done what you can and the entire thing becomes a tad repetitive. The events you were previously looking forwards to get skipped, you long for traders so you can just get enough coin. But compared to the rest that part was brief and it felt good to complete it.One tip. Get a hero of each type (scout, sage, merchant, etc). Trust me on this. I skipped getting and leveling up a merchant since my caravan leader was doing the haggling. This came back and bit me on the♥♥♥♥♥♥forcing the repetitive segment I mentioned before. If you assume from the start that you will need a hero of each kind then it should be smoother for you.. I deeply enjoyed the trading part of the game although it was rather simplistic. The way to get rich fast was to horde tons of luxury items at cheap prices and sell them high but then again, isn't that what trading is about. As other players have commented, the game is very grind based and the mechanics can be rather simple.However, I enjoyed this game as a way to play a few hours here and there so I think it is quite value for money considering I got this as part of a bundle. The music and art is lovely. Story is kinda meh but heck, I enjoyed it too.I'd recommend this on sale.. I'm going through my entire library and putting a minimum of an hour into each game and then reviewing them, here is mine for Caravan:So my hours say I've played it for 9 hours but thats wrong. I mean technically its right, but its wrong. I played for my minimum of one hour and then went to sleep, forgetting that the game was running. That being said, its alright. Its a trading game, its one of those situations that I need a MEH button. But I can't fault the devs for making something thats meh to me. Sometimes your game just doesn't reach some people.. Great game, great story. It was kind of a grind-fest at the end. I hope to play this through the end again someday.
